Marco Beltrami's The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada
25-Feb-2006 - Recall Records, the new label for quality releases, has released The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada. It's the story of Mexican farmer Melquiades Estrada who has been shot and quickly buried in the high desert of west Texas. His body is found and reburied in Van Horn's town cemetary. In order to honor the promise he made to his best friend Melquiades of a proper burial in his Mexican hometown, Pete Perkins (Tommy Lee Jones), leads an investigation into the death, which the local authorities refuse to pursue. Not only did Tommy Lee Jones direct and star in the ilm, he was also the music supervisor, bringing his love of music to the fore of this film. The soundtrack combines the rich score of Marco Beltrami with classics by Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard and Flaco Jimenez.
