Blue Max, The (1966)

Jerry Goldsmith

Released in:

The Goldsmith Legacy Begins
filmfactsman (May 12, 2005)
With the release of the film "The Blue Max", Jerry Goldsmith had established himself as an eminent film composer at the top of his form with such deverse subjects as "Freud", "Lonely Are the Brave", "Lillies of the Field", "In Harm's Way" and "A Patch of Blue." In the year 1966 alone, he made movie magic with such memorable contributions to "The Sand Pebbles", "The Trouble With Angels", "Our Man Flint", "Stagecoach", "Seconds" and this exciting World War I epic. His versatility has always been amazing. The latest CD issue contains all the previously released tracks by Goldsmith plus all the various cues heard in the film as background music. The original Mainstream album was one of the first soundtracks that I owned and I played it almost daily. Even now, with this magnificent CD release in my collection, I still go back to the original album and experience again the thrill of listening to it for the first time.
